Steps from the University of Georgia campus, this hip & trendy lifestyle brand found the perfect new home in this early 20th century building in Athens, GA. We were able to partner with Urban Outfitters and NewStudio to breathe new life into this old S.H. Kress five-and-dime store. Kress was known for building structures with noteworthy architectural elements. We carefully tended to these touches, refreshing the building’s essence to reveal the nuances of the original façade and interior wall panels. Given the respect and care we gave to the building’s history, we were honored that the space was given an Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation Award for Outstanding Rehabilitation.
